Krunker.io: the most fun you’ll have in your web browser

I stumbled across this gem the other day and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. Krunker.io is a true mashup of some of the most popular games over the last decade. Most importantly, you play it in your browser, any browser, mobile included.

Developed by Swiss based Yendis Entertainment, Krunker.io was released on 20 May 2018 and recently surpassed the 150 million player mark. The game receives weekly updates and while there is no need to register, you can join 15 million other registered gamers if you want to rank up.

Krunker.io is a Minecraft-looking, COD-like, first-person shooter that offers a very low barrier to entry; no installation required. There is an installer for desktop PCs and mobile should you want the game to run directly on your device but that is not a prerequisite.

The game offers regional play and there seems to be a South African region allocation which is great. With games often in single-digit pings, this game is super fast-paced with a very competitive community.

The game is very easy to get into, you either just click on the screen to start playing or you can set up a room for games with your friends.

Although this game plays great in any browser, if you play on mobile, it is best to get the official Android or iOS app installed, graphic performance and controls are much better and the game runs much smoother overall.

There are a number of game modes that you can play, Free for All, Parkour Mode, Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch and many more. It’s an incredibly feature-rich game with a very strong dev and modding community too.

Even though Krunker.io is free to play, there are pop-up ads in the lobby screens (not in-game) and there are many items and skins you can buy for your character using a lucky loot crate system. There is also an impressive in-game market place where rare items can be bought for large sums of in-game currency.
